ABOUT ME
I believe that to teach is to learn, and learning should be fun. The ESL classroom is a magical place where I get to rub elbows with the world. I aim to build peace through understanding, equip language learners with the skills to pursue their goals, and learn something new each day.
I began teaching adult and young English language learners in 2007 in Dallas, Texas. I worked at a wonderful community college for three years, teaching continuing education and corporate training classes. Currently, I teach in an intensive, English language program in San Antonio, Texas for international students from over 110 countries. My favorite skills to teach are pronunciation, writing, and speaking. I'm interested in learning best practices for incorporating technology into the class, creating a student-centered learning environment, and building bridges across cultures. Every day is a new adventure, and I am thankful that my students take me along.
When not working, I am busy with my second, full-time job as a wife and mom. I'm lucky to be loved by my wonderful husband, David, and our young daughter and son. We enjoy romping and stomping, using our imagination, and getting outdoors.
